Early morning fire damages Gigglin' Goat

BOONE -Boone Fire Chief Justin Adams credits an observant crew with calling in the fire at the Gigglin' Goat restaurant and City View Reception Hall.  Around 5am on Friday, firefighters were responding to a medical call when they smelled and saw smoke coming from the building at 628 Story Street in downtown Boone.  By calling in reinforcements right away, they were able to begin fighting the fire while it was still in the roof area.  Both Ogden and Madrid crews were called in to assist once it was identified that the fire was fully involved.  The fire was fully contained by 10am.  Fareway Stores, with it's corporate headquarters in Boone, offered assistance by providing a refrigerated truck to store restaurant product.  The State Fire Marshall and the Boone Fire Department continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
