BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council has approved an amendment to the city's noxious weed and growth ordinance. The change identifies that enforcement will be handled through the Department of Public Safety instead of the Office of the Building Official. The Council already approved moving the position to the Police Department. Boone Mayor John Slight says he feels the move will benefit residents by being more proactive in dealing with nuisance matters. Slight says the city is in the process of looking for a Code Enforcement Officer.
