BOONE, Iowa---The Boone County Veterans Affairs Commission had a pretty good turn out for the Boone County Veterans Fair on Thursday. The event featured several different agencies that provide a variety of services to Boone County clients. Bob Steben, Executive Director of the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs says one of the biggest problems that agencies face is getting information to veterans about benefits they have earned. He says frequently family members discovery that benefits were available after it's to late. Steben said even those that couldn't make it to the fair could work through the Boone County Veterans Commission to make sure they at least know what benefits they've earned.
