School Board Reviews Potential Cuts

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone School Board previewed a series of potential cuts that could reduce general fund expenditures by at least $500,000.  Superintendent Brad Manard says the cuts will include staff and will probably be just the first to be addressed over the next three years.  Manard, on the KWBG Tuned In Program, said increased operating expenses, fuel, heating and cooling, supplies and personnel costs, coupled with limited or reduced allowable growth, are driving the issue.  Additional discussion on the district's financial issues will take place in an open, public forum, Monday, March 26th at 7:00 PM at the Middle School Commons.
