Fareway Purchases Former Bank Building

BOONE, Iowa---Fareway Stores, Inc. announced late Wednesday afternoon that they have purchased the former Bank of the West building at 715 8th Street in Boone.  The release from President and Chief Operating Office Fred Greiner says Fareway corporate offices were located in downtown Boone until 1979, when they were relocated to their current location.  Greiner's letter says the return to downtown Boone symbolizes Fareway's commitment to Boone, as well as a commitment to continue growing.  The facility will be transformed into Fareway offices from some staff members currently located in the Industrial Park.  The transition is expected to take several months.
