Supervisors Consider Agreement

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone County Board of Supervisors once again considered approval of a Joint Public Service Agreement with a number of other entities involved with the High Trestle Trail.  Initially the Board had been reluctant to adopt the agreement because of language that could have created a Trail Authority or Trail District which might have had taxing authority.  The upside of the agreement, the County contributes $5,000 a year to a fund that will be used for future repairs to the trail.  Since the biggest share of the trail is in Boone County and the High Trestle Bridge is also in the county, it could alleviate future expenses for Boone County Conservation.
