BOONE, Iowa---The Boone School Board is considering cuts in general fund spending to balance declining revenue and increasing costs. Superintendent Brad Manard said recently that the district is also dealing with some Department of Education decisions that change how the district spends it's resources. One area of contention is the Drop Out Prevention money received by the district. Manard says the district is now being told that some of the spending is not appropriate, even though it was not a problem last year or the year before.
Manard says the financial impact will be presented to the public Monday evening at a forum at the Boone Middle School Commons, beginning at 7:00.
