Supervisors Adopt Budget

BOONE, Iowa---Boone County Supervisors have adopted the proposed Boone County budget for the 2013 Fiscal Year.  The budget does call for an increase in property tax asking to just over $7.8 million up slightly from the current level of just under $7.6 million.  The Supervisors also accepted the recommendation from the County Compensation Commission, however the increase was reduced by 50%.  Recommendations for increases the past couple of years were zeroed out, and this year the Compensation Commission indicated that their work was a waste of time if the Supervisors continued to eliminate recommended increases.
