BOONE, Iowa---For a variety of reasons, many school districts in Iowa are taking long looks at staff reductions to meet budget guidelines for the next fiscal year. Boone Superintendent Brad Manard has said there are still a number of variables like allowable growth, contract settlements, declining enrollment and costs of operating. Manard says the problems are coming in the general fund portion of budgets. The Boone School Board has looked at a plan that may not replace several faculty members and could eliminate others in the future. Manard says the Board has made no final decisions. The Boone School Board will host a public forum on the Budget, Monday, March 26th beginning at 7:00 PM at the Boone Middle School.
