BOONE, Iowa---Boone native and veteran teacher Shelly Stotts has announced her candidacy for the Iowa State Senate in District 24. The new 24th District includes Boone, Greene and Hamilton Counties, portions of Webster County including Dayton, Lehigh and Otho and a small portion of Story County including the city of Gilbert. Stotts will seek the Democratic nomination in the June 5th Primary Election. The 24th District is currently served by Senator Jerry Behn, Senate Minority Leader. Behn has also filed for the Primary on the Republican ballot.
