Recommendation on Communication System Expected

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone County Board of Supervisors will receive a recommendation on the bids received for the new mandated narrow band communication system.  Bids were received last month, but because of options were under review.  Mazzitello Consulting has been working with county officials to prepare specifications and has been reviewing the bids.  The project recently received a big boost in funding with the Ogden and Boone Fire Departments with over $400,000 in grants.  The project is estimated to cost at least $750,000 and is required to be operational at the end of the year.
