BOONE, Iowa---Boone County residents are being asked to support a Boone Area Humane Society Fund Raiser Capital Campaign. The Friday night event at 7 Oaks Lodge will feature numerous auction items, raffle items and more. Dora Burma has been consigning items for the silent auction and says people will be impressed with the donations. The capital campaign is an effort to raise funds to construct a surgical center for use by veterinarians, a remodeling of the old shelter and a reconfiguration of outdoor kennels and fencing. In April the Humane Society Annual Rummage and Bake Sale will be held. Those proceeds are used for operating costs. Tickets for the Pawty for Pays are available at the shelter at 432-6112.
