YSS Offers Telehealth

BOONE, Iowa---Mary Mix, licensed mental health counselor with the Youth and Family Counseling Center in Boone, says the advent of telehealth is offering additional assistance to youthful clients of Youth and Shelter Services.  Mix says a licensed psychiatrist is used to review individual cases and monitor medications.  She says the service is quite valuable for counselors and is very beneficial to the continuity of care for Boone County Clients.  Mix says the service is only available for a few hours a couple of times a month, but efforts are underway to try an expand the telehealth service in Boone County.
